After completing the Volunteer registration process (including Proof of Identification) this should be started automatically. You should get an email from Sterling Volunteers with instructions on how to authorize the Background Check process.
Background Checks need to be renewed annually, Click Here for detailed instructions on how to renew Expired or about-to-Expire Risk Status.

These 3 online courses are required for all new AYSO Volunteers. All 3 courses should be taken via the AYSOU link (found in My Account --> Volunteer

4. SafeSport (adults only)
Login to your Sports Connect account
Go to the Volunteers tab of My Account
Find your name under My Roles & Certificates
Click the box to the left of SafeSport (near the bottom of the list).
Click the blue Renew & Update button in the lower right corner
Click the link in the pop-up box.
Create a SafeSport account using the SAME E-MAIL ADDRESS as the one you use for Sports Connect.
Take the course and pass. (Note: you cannot watch a little, close it, then start up at the same spot. SafeSport will put you back to the beginning.)
New AYSO Volunteers need to complete the full 90-minute USSF course.
Returning Volunteers need to complete the 30-minute Refresher course every 12 months.
All Region 9 Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Referees must complete job-specific training for the age level they are volunteering for.
